Lok Sabha Speaker calls for greater cooperation with Kazakhstan

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has expressed confidence that the forthcoming visit of Vice-President Hamid Ansari to Kazakhstan will open a new chapter in the relations between the two countries.

During a call-on by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Dr Kairat Umarov here last evening Mr Chatterjee said, as ''old friends,'' both India and Kazakhstan can benefit from each other's experiences by enhancing and diversifying cooperation.

He also called for frequent interactions between the two Parliaments, adding that an India-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group would be set up in the Indian Parliament very soon, according to a release issued here today by the Lok Sabha secretariat.
