Culprit arrested immediately after robbery

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Three robbers, who were running after looting a metal merchant at V P Road here yesterday, were arrested immediately after the incident.

''At around 1845 hours yesterday, three robbers entered in the office of Padhamram Choudhary, a metal merchant. One robber threatened him with a revolver, another tied his hand to a chair and the third one removed cash of Rs 33,000 from the cupboard, took a lap-top and ran away,'' Senior Inspector B K Chikhale of V P Road police station said, while speaking to mediapersons here.

Meanwhile, Mr Choudhary shouted loudly and hearing his voice people in the office alerted a police patrolling van, which was passing nearby. The police team immediately started chasing the robbers. To prevent the arrest, the robbers attacked the team in which three constables suffered injuries, Mr Chikhale stated.

However, the team successfully nabbed them and five choppers, two knives and two revolver were seized from their possession, he said.

The robbers were identified as Satish Sadanand Amin (33), Mustafa Khan (22) and Mohammed Razak (37), Mr Chikhale said.

The cash and Lap-top was also recovered from them, he added.
