Woman, two children found dead; husband dies on way to hospital

Sangli, Maharashtra, Mar 5 (UNI) Bodies of a woman and her two children were recovered from the Krishna river bed near Kasbe Digraj in Miraj tehsil of this district, police said.

The bodies of the deceased, identified as Vanita Suresh Katkar (40), Akash (15) and Shubham (13) were recovered yesterday, the police added.

Meanwhile, Vanita's husband, Suresh Katkar, was found in an unconscious condition and died on way to a hospital late last night.

It could not be ascertained whether it was a case of suicide as the cause of the deaths was yet to be known, they added.

Suresh had taken loan from a bank and local credit societies for domestic purpose, but had failed to return the amount, which may have forced him to take the extreme step, the police said.
