21 Sainik School Kunjpura students make it to NDA

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Twenty one students of Sainik School Kunjpura in Haryana will join the 120th course of National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, which commences from June this year.

The enviable feat accomplished by the premier institution of Haryana has surpassed the 2006 results when it sent 17 boys to NDA and is the best result achieved by the school in the past 40 years.

In addition to the 21 students, four students of the previous batch have also qualified to join NDA, taking the total number of achievers to 25.

So far, 587 students from the school have joined in the Officer Cadre of the Armed Forces through the NDA till January 2008.

Besides NDA, a good number of students have joined as officers in the Armed Forces directly.

Famous alumni of Sainik School Kunjpura included Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, General Deepak Kapoor, Chief of Army Staff and Colonel Sant Kumar, who had represented India in the 1980 Olympics held at Moscow.

The school also boasts of luminaries from the armed forces, doctors, engineers, lawyers and managers in the corporate sector.
