Man butchers 15-month-old nephew in Jeddah

Dubai, March 3 (UNI) In a horrific incident, a Syrian decapitated his 15-month old nephew in front of his mother in full public view in Jeddah to settle scores.

The 25 - year old man beheaded the boy when he was with his mother shopping out at the fruit and vegetable section of the city market.

Eyewitnesses told Arab News that the man picked up a knife from inside the store and severed the boy's head. The mother and a shopper standing close by fainted, while several other stood in shock and disbelief over what had happened.

A police officer said the mother was hospitalised for shock and the father of the boy was at work at the time of the incident. The report did not say if the killer was arrested but added that the scene of crime had been cordoned off and police were gathering forensic evidence.
