Reckless Bikers Accused of Blocking Ambulance With Patient Onboard; Police Scan CCTV to Identify Riders

A group of reckless two-wheeler riders allegedly blocked the path of an ambulance carrying a patient and performed dangerous wheelies in North Bengaluru on Friday, delaying the emergency vehicle despite its siren being on.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2:30 am on July 4 on the stretch between Goraguntepalya and Yeshwanthpur.

According to the viral post, an ambulance trying to rush a patient to the hospital was allegedly unable to move ahead because five to six bikers rode abreast and did not make way, even with the siren blaring. The horror didn't end here, the riders were even seen performing wheelies and other stunts on the road, forcing the ambulance to slow down while attempting to navigate through the obstruction. The alleged act delayed the emergency vehicle and endangered the patient inside.

The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Yeshwanthpur Traffic Police Station.

A senior officer from the Yeshwanthpur Traffic Police Station said the police had initiated an inquiry into the incident.

"We are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the riders. Once they are traced, appropriate legal action will follow. A case of reckless and dangerous driving will be registered against those responsible," the officer said.
