Bank employees to strike work Feb 25, 26
Bhopal, Feb 24 (UNI) Bank employees and officers of public sector and old-generation private sector banks would participate in the February 25 and 26 bank strike in the country.
The strike has been called by the Union Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) to press for their demands including the proposed merger of SBI associate banks with the parent bank and also the mergers among public sector banks, according to a statement issued by the Madhya Pradesh Bank Officers' Association (MPBOA) here today.
Other demands included option to PF optees to join the pension scheme, restoration of compassionate appointments in banks, filling up all vacancies in banks, stop outsourcing of normal banking jobs and services and early settlement of wage revision.
The MPBOA warned that the banks would go again on strike in the last week of March if a positive approach to the demands was not adopted.
