Cartridge found in NSCBI airport bathroom
Kolkata, Feb 20 (UNI) A cartridge was today found inside the bathroom of the domestic terminal at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport here.
CISF Commandant Kashinath Tripathi said a CISF personnel, on inspection rounds, found the .32 ammunition inside the toilet.
Airport sources, however, stated that a passenger first saw the ammunition inside the commode and informed the CISF personnel.
''A passenger might have left the cartridge before entering the security hold area, apprehending arrest,'' Mr Tripathi added. The passenger could not be identified.
The ammunition was later handed over to the police.
Mandatory security checks, including personal frisking of passengers, and scanning of hand baggage by X-ray machines are done after passengers check in at the airlines counters before proceeding for security checks.
