'Walk-in-Admission' for all academic programmes at IGNOU
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced 'Walk-in-Admissions' round the year for all academic programmes of the University.
All the academic programmes will be offered in both cycles of admissions-- January cycle and July cycle. A common prospectus will be prepared incorporating details of these academic programmes.
At present, the University is offering 138 programmes and as many as 17.06 lakh students are on its rolls.
As part of its affirmative action, 35 per cent of fresh enrolled learners were women, and 25 per cent were SC/ST.
IGNOU last year crossed the national target of 33 per cent women and 22.5 per cent SC/ST in higher education student enrolment.
The Varsity has established a large number of special study centres focusing on SC/ST women, minority groups, jail inmates, physically challenged, remote and rural areas and low literacy districts.
