Two officers fined for failure to give information under RTI

Patna, Feb 19 (UNI) The Bihar State Information Commission(BSIC) today slapped a fine each on Deputy Secretary of Human Resourses Department(HRD) and Sub-Divisional Officer of Dehri-on-Sone for their alleged failure in providing details to information seekers as warranted under the Right to Information(RTI) Act.

Official sources said here today that Information Commissioner P N Narain slapped fine on the Deputy Secretary of HRD, also designated as information officer of the department, following his failure to provide details to one Kulesh Kumar on a particular matter, despite instructions issued to the officer in this regard.

In a different case, Mr Narain also slapped fine of Rs 7250 on SDO of Dehri-on-Sone for his failure to comply with his directive, issued to him to provide information to one Ashok Paswan.
