Sher Singh Rana seeks transfer of his case
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Sher Singh Rana, the main accused in the Phoolan Devi murder case, today submitted an application asking for transfer of his case from the court of Additional Sessions Judge V K Bansal to some other court.
Rana alias Pankaj Singh submitted in his application that his case be transferred to some other court as he feared that he would not get justice from the present court.
Prosecution argued that Rana's application had no special point and was intended to delay the court's proceedings.
Rana's case was earlier transferred to the present court from the court of the Additional Sessions Judge D S Punia.
The application for the transfer of the case was then marked to Judge in-charge Patiala house Mamta Sehgal and would be heard tomorrow.
On July 25, 2001 Rana along with 11 other co-accused had allegedly killed Phoolan outside her residence in the capital's Ashoka road to avenge the 1981 Behmai massacre.
