Live grenade, bullets found near Howrah station

Howrah, Feb 19 (UNI) A live grenade and about 16 bullets were found on Cab road near the entry point of Howrah station last night.

Railway police sources here today said the grenade was found near their office just outside the station, wrapped in a dirty paper, and 16 live cartriges belonging to various kinds of ammunition including auto rifles, machine guns and .303 rifles.

Addtitional Director General of Railway Police Dilip Kumar Moitro, eho had arrived at the spot immediately after the grenade and bullets were found, said that preliminary examination suggested that they were of foreign make, especially those used by the military.

The sources said that their department is in contact with the military, who will help in investigation process.
