4 killed, two injured in road mishap

Chitradurga, Karnataka, Feb 19 (UNI) Four persons were killed on the spot and two seriously injured when a truck ran over them near Hiriyur on National Highway 4, about 45 km from here, early today.

Police said the victims, identified as Mujeebulla (45), Prasad (48) Bakshi (50) and Sheik Peer (40), were standing on the road side when the mishap occurred.

The injured were admitted to the Hiriyur hospital. The truck driver fled away, police said.
