Irregularities in rice scheme detected
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 18 (UNI) Subsidised rice and kerosene meant for BPL families was found missing during surprise raids at 32 ration shops at Ramchandrapur area in Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh.
A team led by Deputy Collector G R Rathore carried out the raids yesterday.
Under the Chief Minister's Food Assistance Scheme, rice is provided to BPL families at Rs 3 per kg.
On getting wind of the raids, village sarpanchs and members of women committies and forest conservation committees fled.
