Fortis partners Godrej to set up pharmacies in rural India

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Fortis HealthWorld Ltd (FHWL) today said it has partnered with Godrej Adhaar to set up FHWL pharmacies across rural India.

''FHWL, the healthcare retail chain of Fortis Healthcare, will reach rural India through its tie up with Godrej Adhaar, the rural agri-retail initiative of Godrej Agrovet Ltd, providing all encompassing health needs under one roof,'' a company statement said.

These one-stop shops will have regular prescription and OTC drugs, alternate medicines like homeopathic and ayurvedic under the same roof.

The stores will also be equipped with a wide range of fast moving health good and support systems.

''To start with, Fortis Healthworld Aadhaar Pharmacies are being launched at the key Aadhaar centers, at Taran Taran, Batala and Mehta Chowk in Amritsar, Punjab.'' the statement added.

''There is a huge need and potential for retail pharmacies providing genuine medicines and quality services. We are sure that through this alliance, we will be able to unlock the potential of rural markets and provide cutting edge pharma product and services to all corners of the nation,'' said Fortis HealthWorld CEO Ashish Kirpal Pandit.

''The rural market in India holds huge potential for pharma industry,'' CEO, Godrej Agrovet Ltd B S Yadav said.
