Respite for Delhiites as mercury rises to 9.5 degrees C

New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Delhiites this morning woke up to a warm morning with the mercury rising to 9.5 degrees Celsius, providing relief from the cold wave conditions.

The normal temperature for this time of the year is 10 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.

Yesterday, the minimum was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius.

The Met office had forecast a further rise in the minimum temperature to 10 degrees celsius over the weekend.

The maximum temperature had also been registering an upward trend with the mercury settling at 25.9 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Delhiites had been facing a severe cold wave since the beginning of the month with the temperature plummeting to 3.8 degrees Celsius on Monday, making it the coldest day in February in the capital in the last six years.
