INC signs MoU to set up Consortium for PhD in Nursing
Bangalore, Feb 16 (UNI) The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has signed an MoU with the city based Rajiv Gandhi University and World Health Organisation to develop a National consortium for PhD in Nursing for the first time in India.
Disclosing this to reporters during a national seminar on Nursing Practice here today INC President and Nursing Advisor to Government of India, T Dileep Kumar, said the Council had adopted 'Thailand Model' for the purpose.
"Premier institutions, which are offering Post graduation in Nursing have been identified and declared as study centres. INC after detailed dialogue with experts has developed syllabus for PhD in Nursing," he said.
INC had adopted modern teaching methods including video-conference through which lectures would be delivered. So far INC had admitted three batches with 30 students each.
The consortium Methodology had been appreciated by WHO and now many overseas candidates were approachig INC for admission. However it had not opened this channel to overseas candidates so far, he said.
