Eight women, twelve-year-old killed in accident

Pune, Feb 16 (UNI) Nine people, including eight women and a twelve-year-old, were killed and three others injured when the Qualis, in which they were traveling, collided with a truck on Pune-Solapur Highway.

Six people died on the spot and three others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. The injured were admitted to Kulkarni Hospital at Daund.

The driver of the truck is absconding, police said.

The women were returning to Pune after having ''Darshan'' of the Devi at Tulzapur last night when their vehicle collided with the Solapur bound truck at Bigwan near Baramati, Pune Rural Police informed.
