HC to deliver verdict in employment exchange rule case
New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) The Delhi High Court will tomorrow pronounce its verdict in a 10-year-old case seeking relief against a government policy of not recognising a diploma in Medical Laborotory Technology(MLT) from an institute at the time of employment despite its name being in the employment exchange brochure.
A bench comprising Justices Manmohan Sarin and Veena Birbal after hearing the arguments from both sides today reserved its judgement.
The case has been filed by one Anil Saini in 1998 on the ground that he was denied employment as a lab assistant on the basis that the institute, Public Health and Hygiene, New Delhi, from which he obtained diploma in MLT was not recognised in 1991.
His counsel ML Chawla said, ''the government is misguiding the poor people, if the diploma is not recognised by them then why do they publish the name of the diploma in their brochure.'' Mr Chawla showed the court a few questions asked in the Lok Sabha regarding the same institute in 1988.
