Nagar poll after 30 yrs; 6 working days a week from next month

Ranchi, Feb 12 (UNI) The Jharhand cabinet today finally recommended holding of elections for Nagar Parishad, Ranchi Nagar Nigam and Nagar Panchayat.

In another cabinet decision regarding government offices schedule, Saturday would also a working day from March one. Last year the government had decided to keep five days working a week.

Voting would be held on March 25 while counting would take place on March 27 for all the elections.

The elections were being held after about three decades.

According to the decision, notification would be issued on February 20 for the Ranchi Nagar Nigam and last date for filing nomination has been fixed at February 28.

Scrutiny would be held on March two and withdrawal of nomination was scheduled for March five.

For Nagar Nigam and Nagar Panchayat, notification would be issued on February 20 and filing of nomination would continue till March 27.

Scrutiny would be held on March 28.

Cabinet Secretary N N Pandey said the voting was shceduled for March 25 and if required it would be held the next day adding results would be declared on March 27.
