INCOIS, ADPC Thailand ink MoU on early warning

Hyderabad, Feb 12 (UNI)A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been singed between the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre(ADPC) of Thailand and the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) to establish linkages between the two institutions for early warning arrangement, preparedness and mitigation of coastal hazards, especially for tsunami early warning.

The areas under the MOU include the exchange of Regional Tsunami Watch Information in Indian Ocean and training professionals in the area of capacity building and related activities.

The National Tsunami Early Warning System had been set up at the INCOIS in October last.
