9 transport department employees suspended

Lucknow, Feb 12 (UNI) Nine officials of Ghaziabad Transport Department were suspended today for misappropriation of funds.

In an inquiry headed by department's Chief Accounts Officer, the fact of misappropriation of about Rs 33 lakh came to light, Transport minister Ramachal Rajbhar said.

The concerned officials and workers were suspended with immediate effect, besides initiating an official inquiry against them.

The suspended employees were assistant area manager R C Sukheja, K S N Murti and R K Gupta; senior accountant Mukesh Agarwal, Navneet Kumar and B N Dagi; accountant Arvind Kumar and booking clerk Prathvi Singh.

They were also charged of with dereliction of duty.
