Elaborate security arrangements made for Nagaland Assembly elections
Kohima, Feb 11 (UNI) Advisor to the Nagaland Governor Raghav Sharan Pandey has asserted that elaborate security arrangements had been made to ensure free and fair Assembly elections on March 5.
In a statement, he said the Centre had sanctioned 150 companies of security forces and some of them had already arrived while the rest would come after completion of the Tripura Assembly elections.
He also said the deployment of security forces will depend on the demand of the Electorate officers, police authorities and intelligence reports on the sensitiveness of the polling stations.
The state government had demanded 180 companies of security forces for the elections as against 75 companies in the 2003 Assembly polls.
