7 cows die due to poisonous foodgrains

Vidisha, MP, Feb 11 (UNI) Seven cows died while as many fell ill after eating poisonous foodgrains dumped by the Krishi Upaj Mandi in this district, police said today.

Superintendent of Police R L Prajapati said trader Sunil Sahu dumped foodgrains outside the Krishi Upaj Mandi after cleaning them yesterday but contractor Mohit Jain did not dispose the wastes.

Hence, cows died after consuming insecticide affected foodgrains.

Both Sahu and Jain were arrested and ailing cows were being treated, police added.
