SOG-Naxalite exchange fire,high alert in Gajapati
Berhampur, Feb 9 (UNI) A high alert has been sounded in the entire Naxalite dominated Gajapati district after Special Operation Group (SOG)jawans and naxalites exchanged fire in Kichilingi jungle under Garabandha police station.
Police said the exchange of firing lasted for thirty minutes.
However there was no casualty on both the sides, according to Gajapati SP Satyabrata Bhoi.
He said the Naxalites opened around 20 rounds of firing and escaped from the spot after the SOG jawans launched a combing operation in the jungle.
The SOG jawans seized a country made gun and a torch light from the spot.
