Myanmar vessel with 12 poachers apprehended in Andaman
Port Blair, Feb 10 (UNI) In a joint operation with the Andaman and Nicobar Police, a Coast Guard (CG) team seized a Burmese poaching vessel and arrested 12 crew members in the southern region of the islands.
A CG release issued here today stated that the vessel, which was seized on February 7, had 100 kg of freshly caught sea cucumber.
Captain A K Pillai played a great role in the apprehension by skillfully manoeuvring the vessel, the release added.
Meanwhile, police launched combing operations in the area to nab the rest of the poachers, who had managed to flee.
