Crack in track; EMU train services disrupted

Chennai, Feb 5 (UNI) Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) train services on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram section was disrupted for about 40 minutes today following a minor fracture in one of the tracks.

Railway sources said the fracture was noticed by the gangmen while routine checks between Meenambakkam and Trisoolam stations.

The Chennai Beach-Tirumalpur EMU train which was scheduled to pass through the stretch was detained immediately after it left the Meenambakkam station.

A team of gangmen from Tambaram rushed to the spot and rectified the fracture.

The train suffered a delay of about 40 minutes.
