Alert cop prevents abduction of newly weds

Hyderabad, Feb 5 (UNI) An alert traffic police constable rescued a newly-wed couple abducted by girl's relatives at the busy Nampalli Area here today.

According to police, Murali and Sailaja, natives of Attahapur Village in Ranga Reddy District, fell in love and married recently against their parents' wishes.

The parents of Sailaja were reportedly harassing the couple after marriage following which they lodged a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission.

The two were en route to the Commission's office, when some of the girl's relatives tried to forcibly take them away in a car.

When they raised an alarm, Traffic Constable P Venkateswara Rao, suspecting foul play and nabbed the abductors with the help of a Home Guard.
