RSP registers best production in January 08

Bhubaneswar, Feb 04 (UNI) The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited, has achieved a record production in Plate Mill Plates, Hot Rolled Plates from Hot Strip Mill and CRNO from Silicon Steel Mill during January.

A RSP release said here today that the plant had registered best production figures for any month of January since its inception in Sinter, Hot Metal, Crude Steel and Total Saleable Steel.

While the growth over January seven in Sinter, Hot Metal and Crude Steel ranged from nine to 13 per cent, Saleable Steel registered nearly three per cent growth.

At the same time, production in Plate Mill Plates (42,016 tonnes) Hot Rolled Plates (29,687 tonnes) and CRNO steel (7,109 tonnes) were considered as an all time best during January besides the dispatch of steel, which stood at 1,84,801 tonnes.

The steel major set up all time highest output in major areas during the period April seven to January eight as compared to any corresponding period in the past.
