Forward Bloc anounces its candidates for Tripura polls

Agartala, Feb 1 (UNI) The Forward Bloc in Tripura has announced the nomination of its candidates for the February 23 Assembly polls after it split from the ruling Left Front over seat-sharing controversy with major partner CPI(M).

Party sources said here today that the announcement was made last night, when it finalised the alliance with the CPI(ML).

The Forward Bloc would contest 13 seats, while the alliance partner would fight for two.

Forward Bloc state committee president Brajagopal Roy and general secretary Shyamal Roy also condemned the role of CPI(M), which, they said, had neglected other Front partners for their ''vested'' interest.

''The CPI(M) is now facing political bankruptcy and engaged in horse trading. They picked up our party nominees of Agartala Municipal Council and offered him ticket to fight the coming Assembly polls,'' he said.
