Punjab signs MoU with Nabard for credit structure
Chandigarh, Jan 30 (UNI) The Punjab government has signed a MoU with the Union Government and NABARD to implement the revival package for Short-Term Cooperatives in the state based on the recommendations of the Vaidyanathan Committee.
The MoU was signed by Ms Kusumjit Sidhu, Financial Commissioner, Cooperation on behalf of the state government, Mr Umesh Chandra Sarangi, Chairman, on behalf of NABARD and Mr Amitabh Verma, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Finance at New Delhi yesterday. Punjab Cooperation Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh was present on the occasion.
Mr V Ramakrishna Rao, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Punjab and Haryana Regional Office, indicated that the revival package aims at reviving short term rural cooperative credit structure in Punjab.
