Centre of Excellence in Genetic Engineering at GNDU

Amritsar, Jan 30 (UNI) The Central Government has approved a prestigious, Centre of Excellence in Genetic Engineering at the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), a university press release today stated.

The University is one of the few educational institutions which has a state-of-the-art Human Genetics department.

The Central government has also cleared the Nano project of the university for which a grant of Rs three crore has been sanctioned.

The university would introduce M.c in Nano Science and Technology course from the next academic session.

A distinguished international agricultural scientist, Dr S S Chahal, former, Dean of Post Graduate Studies of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has been appointed as Director Research of GNDU.
