Nurse commits suicide under mysterious circumstances

Madurai, Jan 27 (UNI) A 21-year-old nurse today committed suicide by hanging under mysterious circumstances in the house of a city-based businessman, said to be a close associate of a ruling DMK functionary, at TVS Nagar in the city.

Police sources said the deceased, S Karpagavalli, was appointed by the businessman, Nagesh, to look after his ailing mother. The girl used to visit the house frequently to look after the elderly woman.

This morning, Karpagavalli went to Nagesh's house for routine work. Later, she was found to be hanging in the bathroom.

The reason for her extreme step was being investigated. The body was taken to the Government Rajaji Hospital here for post mortem.
