70 mobile medical units for better medical services: UP govt
Lucknow, Jan 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today said medical facilities should be provided to the commonman by constituting Rural Health and Sanitation Committees at gram panchayat level.
'' 70 mobile medical units should be set up immediately for providing medical services to the people living in far-flung areas,'' UP Chief Secretary P K Mishra said reviewing progress of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and immunisation programme here.
He also underlined the need of imparting training to all medical officers and nurses in order to bring down infant mortality rate and special care of infant.
Mr Mishra said Rs 5 lakh should be released for each hospital immediately for strengthening of district combined hospitals. He also underlined the need of regular monitoring and reviewing of immunisation programame.
''The divisional management officers at divisional level and district management officers at district level should be formed immediately and process of posting on these posts should be completed in accordance with the approval of the Government,'' the Chief Secretary said.
Granting sanction to formation of state, divisional, district and block development level programme units under the NRHM, Mr Mishra directed that effective action should be ensured for providing medical and health facilities to people according to the directives of the government.
The meeting was informed that as many as 2,84,966 operations of cataract were performed under National Blindness eradication programme.
Besides, free spectacles distributed to 45,525 school children and carnie transplantation performed to 132 patients.
