3 school children killed, 11 injured in bus-truck collision

Nawanshahar, Jan 25 (UNI) Three children were killed and 11 others injured when their school bus collided with a truck at Malpur village near here today.

According to police, the truck was trying to overtake a car when it hit the school bus, which was carrying 13 children of St Joseph School. Three students died on the spot while 11 others, including the bus driver, were injured.

The principal of the school, Father Joseph, confirmed that the three deceased students identified as Divya Sarin (7), Divyanshu (5) and Javdesh (4) were from the school and were Kindergarten students.

The injured were rushed to a hospital where nine of them were later discharged. Two of the injured are in serious condition.

The police have registered a case against the truck driver who has been arrested.
