Two lecturers, education official in J

Srinagar, Jan 24 (UNI) The Crime Branch (CB) of Jammu and Kashmir police has presented a challan in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Kashmir, against two lecturers in connection with the recovery of incriminating material from their possession.

A CB spokesperson said FIR was registered after the incriminating material, including blank and written answer sheets and other certificates, was recovered during house search of lecturer Peer Mohammad Amin Makhdoomi at Anantnag.

He said during the investigation, it was learnt that the answer sheets were issued to him and another lecturer Ghulam Mohammad Rather for conducting the examination of Higher Secondary Part II.

However, they did not deposit the unused stationery in the board office and misappropriated the same by misusing their official position.

Further investigation revealed that a service book in respect of one Mohammad Ishaq Mir was also recovered during the search which was proved to have been fraudulently prepared by a senior assistant of DIET, Anantnag Mohammad Afzal Khanday in order to ensure his fraudulent appointment in Education department as a teacher.

A fake and forged report card was also recovered, he said, adding the three accused were punishable for similar offences under U/S 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC rw 5(2) PC Act.

A chargesheet was presented before the court after obtaining the requisite sanction from the government for launching prosecution against them, he added.
