Two gangs of snatchers busted in Kapurthala
Kapurthala, Jan 24 (UNI) Kapurthala police busted two gangs of purse and mobile snatchers with the arrest of three members and recovered gold ornaments, cash including US dollars 63 besides 5 water meters.
Talking to media persons here today, SSP Rakesh Aggarwal identified the arrested accused as Kishore Kumar, Manga and Mangal Ram, all local residents. All the accused were in their early twenties and were drug addicts. They were already facing trials in two to three theft cases and were out on bail.
Police expected some more recoveries from them. The SSP said that all the accused had confessed to having committed 10 incidents of snatching in the town during the past few months. They had indulged in crimes to meet their demands for narcotics.
NRI Charanjit Kaur identified the accused Mangal Ram who had snatched her purse containing gold oranamnets , cash and dollars near Gopal park on January 12 in the presence of the SSP and mediapersons.
