Attention should be paid to storm water drainage: Mr Reddy
Mumbai, Jan 24 (UNI) Member of National Disaster Management Authority, M Shashidhar Reddy has admitted that proper attention has not been paid to the storm water drainage in urban areas.
He said this at a workshop while addressing mediapersons.
The workshop was attended by the commissioners of the corporations, who gave details about the plans of disaster management.
Mr Reddy said rapid urbanisation and construction are among the major factors, which are leading to the storm water drainage problem.
Now all the corporations are also concentrating on this issue, he said.
A doppler radar would be set up soon at Navy nagar in south Mumbai which will give details about the weather, Mr Reddy added.
