Five militants arrested, VDC member killed in J and K

Srinagar, Jan 23 (UNI) Militants slitted the throat of a Village Defence Committee (VDC) mkember while security forces arrested five ultras in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official spokesman said today.

He said a VDC member Bharat Bushah was kidnapped by militants from his house at Gagla in Doda district of Jammu region early this morning.

However, his throat slit body was recovered from a distance this morning.

He said security forces arrested four militants of Jaish-e- Mohammad and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen alongwith some arms and ammunition at Sopore in Baramulla while one more was nabbed at Kralgund in the frontier district of Kupwara.
