Pondy Govt asked to submit report on SSA implementation
Puducherry, Jan 22 (UNI) The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resources Development has asked the territorial administration to send a detailed document on the implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) programme in the Union Territory, Committee head Dr Meinya Thokchom said today.
In a chat with newspersons after calling on Chief Minister N Rangasamy and visiting several schools here, he said although other States have not been sanctioned sufficient funds for SSA, Puducherry was being given substantial contributions for the implementation of SSA.
Mr Rangasamy, who was also present, said the Committee had lauded the progress made by Puducherry and felt that it could be made into a model Union Territory.
