Teenaged girl raped, murdered

Silvassa, Jan 20 (UNI) The body of a teenaged girl, who went missing yesterday, was today found at Mandoli village, about 50 km from here, police said.

Thirteen-year-old Jayvanti Lahnu Kamble's body, having head injuries, was found near a river, according to the union territory of Dadara, Nagar and Haveli police.

Her parents and relatives had launched a frantic search but could not trace her.

The post-mortem report revealed that she was raped and subsequently murdered.

The police have registered a case of rape and murder.
