Punjab Minister visits NDDB at Anand
Ahmedabad, Jan 18 (UNI) Punjab Minister for Cooperation Capt Kanwaljit Singh today sought technical and financial support from National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in the areas of productivity enhancement, milk processing and marketing in the state.
Capt Singh was on a two-day visit to the NDDB, Anand. He was accompanied by senior officials from MILKFED and MARKFED of Punjab.
During the visit, he held discussions with the NDDB officials on preparing and implementing State dairy plan for Punjab and the areas in which the NDDB could support dairying in the state.
The Minister was also given an overview of the initiatives taken by the NDDB to support cooperative dairy development in different parts of the country. He was also explained about the innovations facilitated by the board in product and process development and its ongoing research projects in breeding and nutrition.
During the day, Capt Singh visited Sabarmati Ashram Goushala at Bidaj, the world's largest but semen production station and leading institution practising advanced reproductive technologies and modern farm management, Institute of Rural Management, Anand and Dairy Cooperative Society at Vadtal.
