No Muslim youth harassed during blast investigation: YSR
Hyderabad, Jan 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said no Muslim youth was being harassed or picked up illegally by the investigation agencies, probing the Mecca Masjid blasts and August 25 twin blasts, together claiming more than 50 lives and injuring over 100.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said ''there was no harassment and nobody was picked up illegally. The CBI had arrested nine people in connection with the Mecca Masjid blast on the basis of credible information and probing the case.'' The investigation agencies had picked up more than 20 youth in connection with the blasts. The arrested youth have been remanded to judicial custody.
As part of the investigation, the authorities have also conducted narco-analysis tests on some youths to ascertain their alleged involvement in the blasts, triggered by suspected Harkat-Ul-Jihadi- Islami (HUJI) terrorists.
