China grants TV landing rights to Zee
Beijing, Jan 14 (UNI) China has agreed to give TV landing rights to Zee which will allow it to be a part of the bouquet of channels offered by satellite operators in mainland China.
Commerce Minister Kamal Nath while talking to newspersons at the India-China Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation Summit here today said a similar permission was given to China Central Television's English channel, CCTV-9 by the Indian government more than a week ago.
''This will help in enhancing interactions in the field of entertainment,'' Mr Nath pointed out.
Zee had applied for landing rights permission in September 2006.
It had announced to offer a 24-hour channel for China.
