'Dry days' to be observed in Pondy on Jan 16, 23
Puducherry, Jan 13 (UNI) The Puducherry administration has ordered the closure of all arrack and toddy shops and bars in the Union Territory on January 16 and 23.
Excise Deputy Collector Anbazhagan, in a release here today, said that 'dry days' would be observed in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions on January 16 on account of Thiruvalluvar Day and on January 23 in view of Vallalar Jyothi.
Stringent action would be initiated against violators, he added.
