Delhi shivers as north-westerlies sweep capital
New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) With icy winds from Jammu and Kashmir descending on the Capital, Delhiites experienced another chilly day despite the Sun making its presence felt occasionally during the day.
According to the Met department the chill is likely to continue for at least until tomorrow, despite cloud cover above the capital having disappeared.
At seven degree Celsius, today's minimum temperature dipped by more than four degrees as compared to yesterday's 11.5 degrees.
However, the maximum temperature recorded at 18.9 degrees was two degrees less than normal and there were no reports of any rainfall from any part of the city.
Humidity remained at 86 per cent at maximum and 36 per cent at the minimum.
Predicting a nearly clear sky with chilly surface winds blowing during day time, in the next 24 hours, the weatherman said the cold spell was due to north-westerlies coming from the north in Kashmir which was witnessing snowfall in the higher reaches.
