NMCE launches May-2008 futures contract in Commodities
Ahmedabad, Jan 8 (UNI) National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) is launching new series for futures contract in turmeric, soya oil and guar seed with effect from Thursday, January 10, 2008.
The three new series, called May-2008 contracts in respective commodities, will expire on May 20, 2008, while the delivery period for each will begin on May 18.
The basis delivery centre for turmeric is Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), warehouse at Erode in Tamil Nadu, and the additional delivery centre is CWC at Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh.
The delivery centre for Soya oil is Indore, and that for Guar seed are at Jodhpur (basis centre), Bikaner and Nokha in Rajasthan and Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through CWC receipt.
At present, NMCE runs futures contracts in 116 series in 27 commodities, notably rubber, cardamom, raw jute, sacking, menthol crystal, metals, castor seed, other oilseeds and their derivatives.
