Kashmir highway closed, landslides kill one
Srinagar, Jan 8 (UNI) The Kashmir valley was cut off once again from the rest of the country due to heavy snowfall and landslides, which killed a passenger at Penthal.
Heavy rains triggered landslides at Penthal this afternoon, resulting in the on the spot death of a passenger who was travelling in a vehicle from Srinagar to Jammu.
Official sources said it was snowing heavily in the Banihal and Jawahar Tunnel area. They said the landslides had blocked the highway near Penthal where Border Roads Organisation (BRO) men are working to clear the road.
