16 docs, 20 nurses get appointment orders

Chennai, Jan 8 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Local Administration Minister M K Stalin today handed over appointment orders to 16 doctors and 20 nurses in the Chennai Corporation Health Department.

The appointments followed a State Government order to fill 200 vacancies in the Department, an official release said here.

In the first phase, 18 doctors and two each veterinarians and nurses were appointed in October last.

The services of 32 doctors, appointed on consolidated pay scale in 2004, in the District Family Welfare Department (FWD), were regularised and 10 new doctors were appointed.

Mr Stalin gave away the appointment orders, at a function held at the Secretariat, to seven doctors and two nurses in the Health Department and nine doctors and 18 nurses in the FWD, the release added.
