Over seven lakh children immunised under Pulse Polio in HP
Hamirpur, Jan 6 (UNI) The first phase of the Pulse Polio campaign in Himachal Pradesh concluded here with over seven lakh children being administrated Polio drops across twelve districts of the state today, official sources said.
Around 7,31,875 children below five years of age were administration pulse polio drops in 5,855 booths, by 93 mobile and 86 transit teams across the state, the sources, requesting anonymity, said here.
The sources said over 24,461 government officials administered the drops in the intensified pulse polio immunization campaign, which had been launched in the state under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
All left out children would be administered the drops in the next two days during the house to house campaign in the entire state, they said.
Earlier, launching the campaign at Bachat Bhawan here, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal called upon the people to ensure that the Pulse Polio drops were administered to all children below five years of age.
He also emphasised the need for including the children migratory population under the campaign.
